Tax Returns
Tax returns are rarely the same to do as there can be many different aspects to consider. But when doing tax returns on ProTax there are procedures which at the start apply to all tax returns and this is what we will consider below
A. The main form is the main part of the tax return which is made of 10 pages and all tax returns have to have. Click this to view the main part of the tax return which will be there by default.
B. The add pages button is for adding pages to the tax return that are individual to the tax return. There are many different types of pages to add but the main ones are employment, self employed and partnerships. You can also delete the pages here
C. This will be where any pages that have been added will be. In the example above it is a self employment page. It can be multiple pages at once depending on the client. When you click this button it will open the pages related to the added pages on the main form.
Changing
Page
The numbers above are used to choose different pages. When the main form which has 10 pages is selected click the page number to move to that page. If you have any added pages selected you can move between the page numbers using this bar.
Adding Pages
In the picture above is shows the screen which you get for clicking the add pages button. Here you can add or remove any pages depending on wherever they relate to the client or not. So for example if the client has had no employment the tax year you are doing and done only self employed work but he did employment work last tax year then you would need to remove the employment page.
